Holy Orders

The Sacrament of Holy Orders

Holy Orders is the Sacrament in which a Catholic man is ordained a deacon, priest, or bishop. Only men may receive the sacrament of Holy Orders. The Sacrament of Holy Orders imparts a special indelible character, a mark that God can see, on the human soul. Like the Holy Eucharist itself, the character of Holy Orders ontologically transforms a man interiorly while leaving his outer appearance unchanged. That character remains on his soul for all eternity, identifying him as one of God’s ordained servants

St. Alphonsus Marie Liguori, patron saint of vocations
St. John Vianney, patron saint of priests The Church of Notre Dame is regularly praying for vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. The Church needs Her sons to become priests in order to continue Her sacramental ministry. Father Jazdzewski, the staff, and a number of different parishioners actively support vocations and vocation discernment. If you or someone you know would like to begin discernment of a religious life dedicated to God, please contact any of the staff.
