Mandatory Mask Requirement for 4:30 PM Saturday Mass in February.

Dear Parishioners and Visitors,

We love to see you at Mass, and you are welcome here at Notre Dame!

As the pandemic continues and the mask mandate remains a controversial issue, for a one-month trial period beginning February 6th, we would like to designate the Saturday4:30pm Mass as a Mask-Wearing ONLY Mass – with no exceptions. Individuals who arrive at this Mass without a mask will be given one by an usher upon entrance into the church.

We desire to make the Church and her sacraments available to all who, properly disposed, seek them. We also desire to be sensitive to the diverse beliefs and sensibilities of everyone regarding the pandemic. We hope this provides a workable solution for all. While respecting those who claim exceptions to the mask mandate, we will also provide an option for those who feel safer when masks are worn by all in attendance. The Sunday 8am, 10am and 7pm Masses will maintain the mask mandate of the Governor and Bishop, but will allow exceptions as has previously been the practice.

Please take this new designation of the Saturday 4:30pm Mass into consideration as you plan to attend a weekend Mass. If you prefer to attend the Saturday 4:30 pm Mass at Notre Dame, we ask that you wear a mask. If you have a mask exception, we ask that you attend one of the Sunday Masses. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please let me know of any ongoing concerns.

Thank you and God bless,

Father Jesse Burish
